View Full Version : Blades double signing - Cotterill and Matt Spring
Stockers 31-07-2008, 14:28 Due to be finalised any moment now.
Couple of good signings, a left and a right winger to provide the ammunition for the front men.
I'm happy with that, could have done with an central midfielder maybe but i think that'll be it now.
Sun Jahia
Halford
Henderson
Spring
Cotterill
Not a bad bunch of signings really, i'm happy anyway.
bladesufc1 31-07-2008, 14:37 quality i'm a very very happy man :D:thumbsup:
Meanwhile,
United have also completed the signing of Malta international goal keeper Justin Haber.

Rocklegend 31-07-2008, 15:37 Excellent news.On teletext yesterday it said Blackie had given up on signing Cotterill:confused:
i like blackies 'double faint's' with regards to signings- make the press and fans think there not coming then BOOM- get them signed!!!
Good signings- does that mean we can get rid of keef then?
al_partridge 31-07-2008, 15:54 Imagine the derision Wednesday would get from certain posters on here if we'd signed a player on loan from Luton...
well blackie used to manage him so he must know how good he is.
Its only a year long loan though.

Not if you had signed him along with a good player like Cotterill and an International goalie all at the same time :hihi::hihi:

think wednesday fans would have the sense to steer clear of debates about loan players after last seasons fiasco .:suspect::P
mrsteabag 31-07-2008, 18:29 I'm a very, very, very happy woman tonight
Cmon u Blades!!
in tonights star it says owls linked with spring wonder why he decided to come to a progressive club ,do your best piggies
The deal yesterday looked dead as Blackie said he would not pay over the odds for a player,it is a great 3 signings today for the Blades.
barnie41 01-08-2008, 07:35 Good signings, now I can't wait for it to get started again.
Come on you red and white wizards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blade1983 01-08-2008, 12:01 We need another brown.
there are still rumours that he's on his way back. suppose we'll see how true they are.
I'd only want him back if he were a bargain - if not then we'd be better spending some decent money on a 23-26 year old midfielder.
bladesufc1 01-08-2008, 12:05 Blackwell still keeping his eye on Martin!!!
now that would be a coupe if we could get him on a 1 year long season loan

yeah i agree, i wouldn;t spend millions on him- especailly on the wages he will be used to.
Stockers 01-08-2008, 13:08 Forget Brown - he's 30yrs old now, i think its time a few Blades moved on, the Brown we'd get back wouldn't be the one who got 24 goals in a season.
I admit he'd improve the team but i'd rather see us spend that sort of money on the likes of Ben Watson from Palace, he's a decent goalscoring midfielder at a good age as well.
Brown is 31 & he has stated that he is happy at the Latics,he is not the player he once was,he has played for Spurs & Wigan in a different position he played at the Lane.I would love us to get Martin, he has proved in pre season at Man Utd that he is a class player.
