Would anyone else like to see General Discussions split up a bit more? For instance, would you be willing to divide the religious/cultural threads into a new section specifically for them?

I'm finding those debates really wearing now. They just go round and round in circles, with the same posters trotting out the same lame posts, time and again and the same people running interfence for them. I don't want to have to take part or even read them anymore, as it's the biggest exercise in futility I've ever known.

But if I deselect General Discussions, I'm going to be missing the greater part of the interesting posts on SF. It's a dilemma I'd loved to be relieved of. :help:

Totally agree with having a subsection to weed out the religion threads, it's as if everyone is obsessed with it and maybe another one for politics after all we all know they should politics and religion should never be discussed at a party!

Religion sub-section = won't happen, would just cause headaches for the Mods, because only the people who can't debate without quoting the Daily Fail and/or getting all mardy and offensive about the subject matter would post there.

I propose a sub-section for Christians who can talk about their faith in peace and quiet unhindered by atheists who are not religious and should not be posting on a religious thread.

Christians could be suggested to Geoff as a forum group if there is enough interest (though it's not something I'd be in favour of, given how difficult it would be to GL effectively)

I'm with you Rubes - this forum is now of such a size that general discussions could probably do with a good looking at for other divisions too, as could the sheffield section - perhaps with an area which has an auto delete function to it after a time. There are enough traffic info threads etc that really don't need to be there for more than a week

I posted a thread at 8pm last night criticizing the criticism of the muslim faith, similar to the thread posted by tess in the early hours of this morning...it gained many replies in the first 20 mins then strangely, it disappeared...

I contacted the helpdesk just before midnight to ask why it had been removed and as yet have not had a reply.
