I want a club that plays stuff like Joy Division, Violent Femmes, early New Order, Alec Empire, Electronic, Nine Inch Nails, Lolita Storm, Godflesh. Maybe even Warp stuff (as if). Just something dark really.

Please help me.

And don't suggest Fuzz Club or Leadmill, they're both 5hit.

why don't you go to corporation on Saturday nights, go to the Syn room, they play all of that, they play Industrial, darkwave, goth, classic punk. Just looking at the bands you have listed they play tracks by all of them almost every week!!

No thanks. Corp plays the more commercial side of rock and metal and is full of kids. It's not really goth music I'm looking for, though I do enjoy the odd doom-and-gloom night from time to time.

I haven't been on a saturday in almost a year though, so I may pop along just to see if anything has changed.

Yep i agree - Corporation on a Saturday. There is a room dedicated to allsorts of goth/ebm/industrial and 80s stuff, and the DJs always seem happy to play requests.

Also Batfink on the first Friday of every month, at Aqua, Ponds Forge. Plays old and new goth/ebm/industrial stuff, website doesnt seem to have been updated for a while, but it's def on on Fri 6th May <my birthday, i'll be there wi me dancin shoes on heheheh> Have a look at the playlists to see if you'd like it: http://www.batfink.net/playlists.html

Well I know it's not quite what you asked for, but I'm sure that Uncertainty Principle would fill your desire for something dark and odd.

Just checked the batfink setlist out - looks pretty good. Many people go?

I dont know if you mean *many people go?* as in from this forum, or in general ! Forum - i dont know, but yes ive only been a few times and its always been fairly busy. I really really like the venue - if youve not been in, its circular and the dancefloor is a raised circle in the centre, the soundsystem is fab !!

Check out C-90. Never been myself but I have been reliably assured that it is a wicked night. Don't know when the next one is either so that isn't any use either

I was at the Casbah for pre-Corporation drinks on Saturday. A DJ came on at 10pm (upstairs - free entry) and played LOADS of good 80s synth stuff. I couldn't stay long unfortunately, but he was playing the likes of OMD, Simple Minds, Depeche Mode etc etc. Very good music, he used to do the *Nu-Romantic* night there, dunno what happened wi that (i guess i shouldve asked - doh !)

Anyway a mate of mine said he's there every saturday night (the DJ that is)

Batfink isn't bad at all. I remember the first ever one! *sigh*

Anyway, for more syhthpop-type shenanigans check out Synthetic. No NIN, or many guitars for that matter. But it's small, friendly and usually a good laugh. The website is: www.syntheticsheffield.co.uk
