Hi

Just wanting an opinion of what to expect from my puppies first grooming experience.

I took him on saturday to be clipped etc. and probably my fault i didn't pay much attention when i collected him, but when i got home and looked at him more closely his fur has been cut really jaggedly around his ears and feet and he had big chunks cut in to his fur in patches.

I understand he is a puppy and it was his first experience and he probably wasn't like a statue for them, but they said he had been good for them.

I feel concerned now about taking him next time to be done. I just wanted him to come away looking all nicely trimmed and evenly cut, is that too much to expect?

Does anyone have any reccomendations for future reference.

Thanks

Yes it probably is as you already suspect , your puppy wouldn't stay still , I do my own dog( he doesn't like people hence why i am not inflicting him on Yupin at Woodseats Superpet) He is a year and half old and still won't hold still so we have some odd looking chunks out to, Its so hard when they move so much to do a good job. I can recomend Yupin at woodseats super pet she has dojne all my shelties in the past and does a fab job, also we have a king charles too and she always looks perfect when we collect her.

Why does a puppy need cutting?

He's 6 months old but still a puppy and he did need clipping, he's a cocker spaniel and fellow owners told us to take him quite early as he would then get used to it and it would be a normal event in later life not something he would be frightened of.

Not asking for my why i took him to be questioned!!

thats no problem, My old dogs were both about 3 months when we started having them clipped, but maybe pop him down to say hello to people before you take him again .
