Hi Everyone,

I'm just on this poart of the forum today because i'm really worried about my dog, Quicy. He's a Cavalier King Charles and is about 11-12yrs old. He was diagnosed with epilepsy a few years ago and he had the odd fit here and there.

Over the weekend, yesterday and today he's been having what seems like constant fits and he's just not himself at all. My mom is taking him to the vets sometime today or tomorrow but i'm thinking maybe he has some kind of tumor?

What do you think, do you think it's serious or could it be the fact it's been a bit warmer than usual for the past week?

I'd try and make sure he goes today...

I really don't know about what could've caused more fits but I'm sure that they can cause some degree of brain damage with each fit so I'd be taking him asap to see if the vet can prevent more fits happening.

Sorry I can't be of help but please stress that he needs to be there this morning if possible.

Good luck, please let us know how you get on - all fingers and furry paws crossed here xx

Dehydration can bring on fits too, is he drinking enough?

Thanks Lotti.

He's drinking normally IMO. I've tried taking him to his bowl but he's having none of it.

I think he's really zapped of energy at the moment. But that's useful to know.

is he on any meds for his fits ,stress & overheating can be causes of fits , i would strongley recomend taking him to vets A.S.A.P, cover him with a cold wet towel to fetch his temp down, i was transporting a dog the other day that started fitting one after the other so i got 2 diazapan down him & covered him with a cold wet towel & made a detour to nearest vet pleased to say i have not had any bad reports on his condition

We cant possibly say so there is no point in speculating and worrying yourself

Only the vet can tell you what is wrong - if anything

I agree it could be caused by any number of things.

I hope he goes on alright at 6, let us know how it goes won't you? :)

Hi Guys,

Took Quincy to the vets and she prescribed some toblets to hopefully stop the Fits. We are monitoring him for the next 3-4 days. I forgot to mention before but he has a heart murmor so she think's it might have brought on more because of his weaker heart and the heat. He's also lost weight. If he's not himself in the next week again she's suggested some heart tablets which we will try him on if things don't improve.

Thanks for your help today everyone, i'll keep you informed.

Thanks, Gary.

Lets hope the tablets keep them under control, but this heat dosn't help much,
