A possible stray cat has taken to visiting us recently. Think it's a he anyway. He's black and white, quite slim perhaps 4 or 5 years old or certainly not very old.

Anyone missing a cat of that description or is he perhaps your cat?!

We're a little worried as he has no collar and whilst he's friendly enough he's not into being handled. He also seems to have a slighht limp and possible dodgy back end although when he visits he seems quite happy and doesn't appear to be in any pain or discomfort.

If you might know or own him we'd be happy to know he's cared for and just visiting! Neighbours though seem to think he's a local stray.

There have been some posters on lamp posts about a cat missing from Dykes Hall Road. I'll have a look for the number later.

Sorry katkin, I didn't put details in the post cos I'd put it in the subject. Anyway, he/she is lingering round the Middlewood Road/Harris Road/Marion Road area of Hillsborough/Middlewood not far from the SWFC training ground and the new flats.

I got a leaflet through my door yesterday about a missing cat which lives on walkley road.

"Treacle is a small, dark brown tortoiseshell cat with yellowish patches over one eye and on her chest. Last seen 9am Friday 25th July, she was wearing a luminous yellow collar and tag and is microchipped..."

"She is a young nervous cat and has never been out at night before..."

I know you said the cat was black and white but I thought i'd post just in case.

pm me if you want the contact details

there are posters up for a missing black and white cat in crookes, from the pic it's mainly white though with a small black patch on its face and small black patches on its body.

UPDATE: The cat in question is male, neutered in last 2 months, approx 2 years old. Not microchipped and no collar but he has got some fleas. He may well just be playing us for fools (free food!) and actually got a home - hope he is cos he's a really nice cat. He is in fine health apart from fleas, so no back end trouble either thankfully. He's currently lingering in the Harris Road/Overton Road/Marion Road area.

My husband has seen this cat for several months while he's been on the tram. He's says he doesn't look thin but is always at the tram stop and wonders whether he shelters there. Bless him.

Have you posted the details on the Sheffield rspca website and the missing pet register- might be worth doing -also, notify local rescue centres as sometimes cats are handed in as stray
