Topic.

I gather they can only be unlocked by the network, which in this case is Vodafone.

Will they charge me to unlock it? And if so, how much? If it's more than a tenner they can kiss my butt, I'll try Mobile Interchange in Meadowhall or Zarelli on Pinstone Street.

aIf its a DB2020 (or later) lock, your looking around £25-40 depending where you go, this is town prices.

Unlock credits to do it yourself are 25 quid, so anyone else is going to charge more than that

If your phone is on Vodafone, they will do it for you for free. It really all depends how long you've had it, and whether its a contract phone or a payt. Have a look at this link before you throw any money away. http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=371 I recently contacted them to unlock an old Samsung d600, which took a couple of weeks, but was free and easy. Hope it helps.:)

It's on Vodafone, and is just out of contract, the contract ran out on it end of last week.

In which case Rich, its absolutely free. Any contract phone is free, regardless of how long you've had it. Payt phones cost 19.99 if under a year old, and free if a year old or more. Go to the link, it tells you exactly how to go about doing it, you just need to contact them via the contact us button, give them your phones details and they will get back to you.
