RockKat79 24-04-2005, 03:07 AM I love that room, its nearly 3am just got back. There is nothing worse than going to corporation when in a relationship, when your single nobody wants to know you, why is it that when you are in a relationship peope want to know!!?? but this is the affect of alcahol!!! I can feel the embarassment now!
This is my last weekend in sheffield, i'm moving to chesterfield, so i am gutted that it will cost me so much to get a taxi back apose to walking or getting a taxi for a couple of quid no decent rock venues in chesterfield!
Another complaint, why do so many (young) people bang into you when dancing? tonight at least 3 people have banged into me whilst I was dancing.
miggy 24-04-2005, 11:39 AM Oh, just tell yourself that he's probably gay.
Clubbing in chesterfield, could be... interesting.
Agent Gypo 24-04-2005, 12:23 PM I assure you, unless you like getting so ****** you cant stand up, **** yourself and get arrested, or you enjoy fighting with the locals, Chesterfield is not an intereresting night out.
RockKat79 24-04-2005, 03:36 PM I was quite tipsy last night when I wrote that!! I have to agree, i used to live near chesterfield and went out a few times, i agree it is crap for a night out, especially if you are into the rock scene! do they still do that Goth night in The Set on Tuesdays? Does anyone know if there are any other rock bars or rock nights?

Surely it's worse to go clubbing when single and seeing loads of couples having a great time?
Probably didn't understand your post - you can edit it now you're sober ;)

No, I only ever go with my boyfriend, we don't like the same rooms at Corporation, he prefers Hardside, so we fall out all the time. So I was in Reservoir Rocks on my own most of the night!
I did mean what I said though about going as a couple, it can be frustrating, he isn't as enthusiastic about music and going to corp. He gets ****** off with me when I dance, but won't dance on his own to the music he likes. If anyone talks to me, even if its just innocent chat, then he kind of makes his presence felt!! I don't like feeling controlled!
miggy 25-04-2005, 12:10 AM Well go out with some mates and not your bf. It's ok to go out separately - doesn't mean you'll get up to anything!

Problem - I do not have any friends who are into the rock scene!!! So its either go with my BF or on my own!
Classic Rock 25-04-2005, 10:17 AM Starting this Saturday, just around the corner from the Corp, Cha Cha's Rock Night presented by The Classic Rock Bar. Cha Chas is in between the Washington and the Mad Greek. Great pre bar to the Corp on a Saturday.
miggy 25-04-2005, 11:24 AM Kat, Plenty of boys & gals on this board who go to indie/rock. Get a group together, have a few beers, and throw hair about.

This sounds good......can you give any more info? Never been here before, what is the venue like?
mjonah 25-04-2005, 06:53 PM I don't have any friends who are into the rock scene but this doesn't stop me from going down to casbah on a friday night and sometimes corporation on a saturday on my own.
Musey 25-04-2005, 08:10 PM I usually pay a visit to the Casbah on a Friday night, gotta admit I prefer the Corp but for a |Friday Casbah is the best in my book.

Yep, thats the stuff. It's generally a good laugh, but upstairs *shudder* urgh! they are rammed in like sardines!
Pauline BHG 26-04-2005, 07:40 AM Ooooh I never knew that ! Cool. I was a rock chick in my teens, and still like some classic rock for *old times sake*. :) I never made it to the CRB actually, and I see theyre starting a new night too. Rock n rolllllll lml
RockKat79 26-04-2005, 10:04 AM Does anyone know how much a taxi to Chesterfield (virtually the town centre) from Corporation would be?
I haven't had to use taxis with living 5 minutes walk from Corp, but When I used to live in the Peak District it cost £35 to get home that was 4 years ago. Not sure how much it would be now!
I might give Casbah a try one Friday for a change!
SilentStatic 26-04-2005, 04:29 PM I've caught a coach back from Nottm at 3am which went via Chesterfield and cost about a fiver one way. You could check if it goes the other way at that sorta time.
(Edit - National Express)
mjonah 26-04-2005, 06:14 PM Casbah is great on a friday night.
MumphitMan 26-04-2005, 07:33 PM In Chesterfield the 'Green Room' is supposed to be ok. Aparently a little pricey for drinks but good crack and rock based music. Classic Rock at Cha Cha's is my idea of heaven decent music and great food before, during and afterwards. Have they got any drink promotions on? that would be amazing and I'd have to rob a bank or something as I am brassic this month already and I only got paid yesterday!!!! :(
