Before you set off for the Open Air Pool at Hathersage check out it's open.Just been there today to be told there are technical problems which could be days or weeks.
Anyone know another open air pool within 30 miles?

There was one at Alfreton - A38 towards Derby if my memory serves correct.
A few years back - and not knowing Sheffield I went looking for an open air pool.....tried Matlock LIDO only to find it has been made an indoor pool years before.
The staff there mentioned Alfreton....and when I got there it was empty....they had to staff the pool just for me.....and it was brilliant. The indoor pool was very busy.
I think people have got too used to indoor leisure centre pools which is a shame :)

There was another outdoor pool a few miles away beside The Rising Sun pub on the Castleton Road.
We went a couple of times in the mid 1970s and it was a lovely place. We then went for a meal at the pub around 1981 and the pool was still there though covered in muck and closed to the public. There was some filthy water in the pool whose tiles were all cracked. A rusting diving board was still in situ at the far side. A shame.
I think there are some tennis courts on the site now.
