a friend of a friend has been in touch, they found 4 abandoned kittens dumped in the wood near to where i live - they have managed to re-home 3 of them but they have 1 female kitten left. well i have just got my 2 new babies - Baby and Bo, and i am worried that they may pick on her if i take her in but the woman who has her at the moment has 2 dogs that hate cats so she needs re-homing quickly

what should i do? - i don't want to end up like that woman in the Simpsons but i have a space on my lap just big enough for her

I would give it a go , they will hiss and growl at each other but will very soon settle togwether , they are young enough to settle. We did this with ours and its all worked fine.

There's always room for a feline- and if you turn into the mad cat woman don't worry, you won't be on your own- I'm destined to become that batty old biddy one day too

I want to say take the kitten...but only take the kitten if you really want her, and have thought it through.

Cats can be expensive to keep and maintain, and she will find a good home quite easily with being a kitten, like UK student says you could try to rehome her through the cat shelter or put a detailed thread about her on here, just make sure that you vet potential people really well.

Sorry to be the voice of reason, I would love more cats myself (I have 4) and kittens are fabulous but until I win the lottery its a no no

Don't take her just because you feel sorry for her.

i know what you mean moonbird - but at the moment she is being isolated because of the dogs, i can afford her - and my reasoning is that at least if my cats don't get on with her at i can vet where she would be going to as her brothers and sisters where just given to anyone.

who am i kidding i have already named her, bought her stuff and booked the vets for her first injections - i really am going to turn into the cat woman from the simpsons:loopy:
