Hi i am a DJ working throughout the sheffield area and was thinking of starting a DJ agency rather than doing the discos myself..

I already have the equipment of course, my question is how could i safeguard my equipment against theft/damage etc?

Id be essentially sub contracting the gigs to a third party and am worried that they would run off with my equipment!

Any advice guys?

cheers

I would say in theory the idea is very good, I recommend you'd need a cheque/cash deposit for the equipment, refunable after the gig for the first few gigs as well as a copy of the DJ's passport and proof of address. If people want the gigs I'm sure they'll be able to meet your criteria.
If you have any gigs available PM me!

I seem to recall the T & C's of a stretch limo company I once came across took details of customers credit card and made them sign a statement saying basically that if anyone was sick or made a mess, they would charge the card £200 per hour for clean up.

Rather surprisingly, it motivated people not to be sick in the car...

Maybe something like that?
