i bought my daughter a black moor fish yesterday it has gone in to a tank with 2 other gold fish & was swimming about happily yesterday when i put it in the tank & i watched it when i fed them as the person in shop said please make sure it gets some food as these are a bit slow compared to gold fish.
Today its not swam about much but has been it just seems to keep laying in the bottom of the tank is this normal for these type of fish as never had one of these before.
thanks beanz

No thats not normal you've got a poorly fish there. I've had these in the past and found them difficult to keep. Have you got a filter and pump in your tank?
It could have been poorly when you got it, most pet shops offer a replacement for so many days after you've bought it if anything happens to it.
It may be that he's feeling a bit off colour with the change of tank, keep an eye on him, he might perk up. I had a fan tail goldfish that wasn't happy at all when I first got him home. I bought a pump an filter and he perked up. Had him for abut 4 years after that.

You really need a filter and pump for fancy cold water fish. I started off with just a simple tank and before I knew it I'd got pump, filter, light etc etc!

I really know what you are saying thats how i started off years ago lol & i am not going back there again as i had never had these fish before though it would be ok in with her norm al gold fish.
