Hello all

Owning a Vespa myself (ok ok a girly ET4 but hey a 125cc nethertheless ) I am currently writing a feature as part of a university project on why Vespas are so popular.
Could owners tell me why they chose to buy a Vespa, what makes the Vespa so special, how long you have had one, how many have you got, colour, make of Vespa, your name, town and age etc etc.
It would help me lots
Thanks
Emma
If you would prefer you can email me at joa02es@sheffield.ac.uk

you might wanna get hold of a copy of the star or the telegraph from last week. There was a big rally of the rotherham and sheffield scooter club.
I'll see if i can find the details.....

gail.robinson@sheffieldnewspapers.co.uk
covered it in the star on the 18th.

hope this helps

surely the only reason to have a vespa is because you can't handle a proper bike.

Own a Vespa if you cant get a Lambretta and own a Lambretta untill you realise that they are not for cornering or going fast. Then get an RS 250 Aprillia

I've got a Silver Vespa et4 125cc.

I got it to beat the daily commute to work, i'm not at all "into" scooters or Vespas.

I always thought they looked cool since i saw Quadraphenia. (wonder how many times that word will come up in this thread)

I realised how expensive and crap busses were and how cheap and easy scooters were.

I chose a Vespa cause it has a certain something to the name, i always say "i have a vespa" not "i have a scooter".

Details:

I've had it 2 1/2 years, it's silver et4 125.

I only use it to commute, about 10 miles a day.

Even when i have the option of using the car i preffer the vespa cause of parking, petrol, traffic jams etc.

Any more questions feel free to ask or email me: markjohnsona@hotmail.com

Has anyone seen the new adverts for the new Vespa? Some gorgeous guy dressed from head to toe in shiny black PVC, huge stilletto boots, sat astride a Vespa clutching a riding crop! In another shoot he is stood next to the scooter brandishing a whip!! Puuuuurrrrrr!!! Or maybe it's just me who likes it?!!

They say, 3rd class riding is better than 1st class walking.
In the case of a Vespa, I'd rather walk! :heyhey:

Well it sounds to me more like a female sanitry product than a motor vehicle.

Not at all.

I ride a "proper" bike to work every day, but I also have a 35 year old Vespa GTR, which is great fun.

My mate runs a very successful scooter business in Ireland:

I'm sure he'd be happy to answer some questions from a sellers point of view.

vespa /piaggio / gillera are all the same company now.

I thought the et4 was just a new automatic one. Seen some nice older proper vespas around that look good.
