I've got an issue with my PC and I would like to know if anyone could recommend a place / someone who provides decent computer repairs / maintenance services.

I've got a recurring problem with my hard drive...when I shut the PC down completely it just sits there after the bios loads when I start it up again and requires me to load from the CD and use the recovery console. The report after the disk repair always records an error on the boot sector which leads me to suspect the primary HD is on the way out.

What I want to find is somewhere that can fit a new disk and transfer all the data / apps to the new and possibly give the machine the once over...does anyone have any suggestions?

A & M Computers on Chesterfield Rd, just by the traffic lights at Scarsdale Rd.

I used them quite a lot in the past year or so due to problems with my old pc with its brain too full of stuff. They built my new one and it's fine.

Can recommend them.

You should be burning/ transferring all your important files NOW.
Get a pen drive or burn them to CD/dvd.

Depending on the drive see if there are diagnostic tools.
Sounds like HD is dying and yes you should get a new one.
They are easy to fit and really you just format and install.

Seagate offer their pretty good diagnostic SEATOOLS as a free download from their site. You download the program to a CD or floppy and boot from it.
