Hi

I'm a student journalist at the University of Sheffield and I'm writing an article on the slump in house prices. It would be of great help if anyone who has recently bought a house or is looking to buy one would contact me and share their experience

I was starting to look as a first time buyer last year, but now I'm going to hold back a few years. Seems like we're about to his a huge recession (pfff 'credit crunch') its going to take a while to recovery, house prices will slump in a large way.

If you look at the average salary income to house price ratio, you'll see there is a trend every 20/30 years, we're way over due for a huge drop :

Excuse my ignorance, but what does the number on the y axis represent? Houses don't go for 140% of income or 140x income.
