I know this can be quite a sensitive subject, but does anyone have any experiences of young poeple under 18 receiving an ASBO. I'm researching for my final year project at uni what support there is available for young people who have received them and if it has helped the individual and the families involved.

What I would really like to do is chat to anyone involved to get more of an idea on how to structure the research.

Any help would be much appreciated.

i used to have an ASBO when i were 16 i was a terror and used to hang around with the wrong crowds when i received one it changed my life i didnt want to be in trouble with police/council and didnt want to go to jail so i excepted it and went my own way.i still have the document of my asbo and i tend to keep it to remember when im old what a terror i was in my teens.

Is there anyone else who has direct experience of ASBOs?

I dont know whether its all the council reports but from what i've read there is a problem in Sheffield and that is part of the reason there are new projects for kids who have shown anti social behaviour.

Id be interested to hear what other peoples views are on this.

hiya i have just pm you at the mo im busy getting ready to give birth to my first baby on may 6th i got my ASBO at 14-16yrs old and it lasted for 2yrs. i will pm you with more details as soon as poss after baby born.
