View Full Version : Where to buy poker chips? Greenback 22-04-2005, 10:09 I need to get hold of some quick and wondered if anyone knew an establishment that sells such items... help! Berberis 22-04-2005, 10:11 There is a place in Meadowhall that sells poker chips, or at least did. Its one of the the small stalls in the rood court. "The Lanes" area I think. scottf 22-04-2005, 10:21 OR you can buy games kits in the gadget shops near bodyshop- there about £10-15 and you get 5 casino games in them. nomme 22-04-2005, 10:25 You could try ebay. I know someone who recently bought loads of them there for a competition. They were cheap and nasty chips but they were... well cheap! He also got a very nice of clay chips from TK Maxx? (Orchard Square) - about 30 quid I think he said. Nomme alchemist 22-04-2005, 10:50 argos are flogging chips tho it is better to buy the poker set its about the same price but you get a nice tin and cards, bout 20 nots dave PerlOfWisdom 22-04-2005, 11:02 Don't casinos sell them? poppins 22-04-2005, 11:06 Originally posted by PerlOfWisdom Don't casinos sell them? We bought 5 sets cos everywhere else the same sets were going for £25. The chip quality varies greatly between different makes. Have a 'feel' ( :heyhey: ) of them before you buy. Nothing worse than throwing cheap 'Connect 4' standard chips when you're trying to make a confident bluff. Greenback 22-04-2005, 12:47 Well, I've bought what will probably turn out to be a pretty rubbish set from Argos for £12.99 (reduced from £20 - 200 chips, mat and a set of cards). Will have to see how it goes! alchemist 22-04-2005, 13:06 i found the argos ones quite good (we have 2 sets cus we found when we wanted more chips it was cheaper to buy a set than 2 boxes of chips) the only prob being deciding what each chip is worth dave Ginner 24-04-2005, 00:30 Originally posted by Ginner Or "Must Have It" (going towards Debenhams) were selling 'carousels' containing 200 chips at Xmas for £16 each..... For anyone else that may be interested in buying poker chips, forget Must Have It at Meadowhall - it's closed down..... Berberis 24-04-2005, 14:40 Are the Argos chips plastic or clay? Ginner 25-04-2005, 07:39 Originally posted by serapis Are the Argos chips plastic or clay? Wouldn't have thought they'd be clay at £20 for 200. marketman 25-04-2005, 11:45 the chips from Argos are plastic, I got a set of a thousand numbered clay chips from ebay in a solid case for £70 and they are great for late night texas hold em :) Don_Kiddick 30-04-2005, 05:49 These any good? http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZwillsupplize future ref in case your Argos ones are too chavvy? ;) AJCrowley 03-05-2005, 10:43 Drinkstuff (http://www.drinkstuff.com) alchemist 04-05-2005, 06:55 noticed yesterday that HMV are selling poker sets!!! dave LesMcQueen 04-05-2005, 18:36 Netto are selling a poker set (chips+cards+case) from Thursday 12th May.
