Just watching the classic Wicker Man on ITV3or 4 or whatever.
Absolutely brilliant and chilling. Who on Earth thought it could be remade in 2006?

A great film. It's worth holidaying in Dumfries and Galloway to visit the sites used in the film. The ruined church is still there and opposite is the schoolhouse. The remains of the wicker man's legs are still stuck out of a block of concrete on cliffs near a caravan park, they are nuturally crumbling so I was able to bring home a small piece. The bakery is a bookable holiday cottage, we stayed there for May Day!

It's a little known fact that Anthony Shaffer, who wrote the screenplay, studied film making at Sheffield University and was inspired to come up with the title by regular lunchtime walks along The Wicker to purchase a sandwich for lunch. Fascinating to think that, if he'd gone to a different shop on a different road, we might be celebrating a great cult movie called "The Eccleshall Man".

Same person who decided the Italian Job would be improved by the presence of Ben Affleck?

One of my favourite films of all time. I saw the uncut version for sale a year or so ago and didn't buy. Is it worth buying anyone?
The Landlord's Daughter cracks me up and I often sing it when roaring drunk.
