I know this poll is trivial and is largely for brain dead, single teenage boys "enjoying" the pictures alone in their bedrooms, but even so, are they BLIND?

As a woman I take no notice of these 'polls' - I remember as a little girl watching Miss World - me Dad would always say when they were crowning the winner... there's better looking girls on the average high street.............I don't think he was wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I suppose what some people find 'sexy' doesn't always equate to 'beautiful'. Hmmm some strange choices though?!

I agree, she's pretty manly - but, to be fair, she has 'blossomed' in the last year (if you know what I mean). It makes concentrating on the words coming out of her mouth a bit tricky, as your eyes are drawn to a certain, um, 'area'.

ie: some women can be attractive but not neccessarily Pretty an vice versa...

I would say Michelle Ryan is attractive... not pretty... but thats my personal opinion...

PS... I think someone looking attractive is worth alot more than someone looking pretty...

A few men like small thin women, a few men like more curvy ones, some like bigger bums and some bigger boobs. But given the choice they all find different women the most attractive.

This was a complete surprise to all, as most people think that everybody finds the same things attractive complying with their own preferences.

Quite, I was once (a long time ago) on holiday with 3 other "lads" and we got into a similar conversation, decided to test it by writing down which of the Bangles we each fancied (told you it was a long time ago)...

...when the ballot slips were revealed, it turned out we picked a different girl each.

Now what's the chances of that we thought, but to be honest, that's what normally happens I've come to realise.

The apparent fascination with Kylie is a complete enigma to me - there must be something about her that men see that completely passes me by. I wonder if it's that men and women can generally agree on who's good-looking, but who's sexy seems to be much more of a personal preference?

Funny how looks and sex-appeal don't necessarily go together - I can think of a number of actors whose mothers couldn't claim they were good-looking, but who are incredibly sexy, eg Tim Roth. And others who are gorgeous-looking but totally bland - um, Noah Wyle for example. It's almost too much of a good thing when you get gorgeousness/sexiness in one person (John Cusack. And I have to mention Nicky Wire here :heyhey: :D )

With regard to women, I think Anna Friel, Kate Winslet and Christina Applegate are very pretty, but wouldn't have a clue if they were sexy or not.

well I have heard of the first two of them, and I know what anna friel looks like on a photo, and she is way too thin to be sexy, she looks like a boy, but having never met her or seen any of her movies I couldn't really comment.
Reneèè Zelwegger from Bridget Jones was nice an sexy but I saw her on a newspaper this week and she has obviously got an eating disorder now or something because she looks like a famine victim, not attractive or sexy at all. And she wants to loose that horrible american whiney accent too, she was much better with the English accent.

And as for men being attractive, you have lost me completely there, I never understood that men could look attractive. Men are just blokes!

At the risk of being extremely trite, I guess it's all in the 'eye of the beholder' - groan, sorry. Apologies for the terrible cliche, but it's late and my brain's refusing to function properly! :D To me, Renee Zellweger is really plain - nothing wrong with her or anything, just not interesting at all.

I mentioned Anna Friel, Kate Winslet and Christina Applegate 'cos I think they all got beautiful faces - to be honest, I don't really notice anything else! (btw Christina Applegate was the daughter in "Married with Children", and has been in various films since then).

Not being an expert on such things, I'll venture my opinion based on conversations with my occasional drinking pals.

There are some women who aren't necessarily beautiful or pretty but are definitely sexy - and vice-versa. I think the sexiness comes from a comfort with their own body, with physicality, with the whole idea of getting sweatily intimate with someone with the intention of pleasure for both.

The short form description of this from my friend Nad is ....ahem.....'I bet she can be really dirty.'

Now some women (and men) you can't think of as sexy because they have something about them that says 'I'd rather not sweat today, thank you, and all that touching...yuck!!' . Others exude comfort and confidence with their bodies, even when their bodies may seem to others to be unattractive (based on the social and cultural norms). Sophia Loren - from an older generation but a very sexy, earthy woman who was 'real'.

I think sexiness is a quality that is very hard to define. It doesn't necessarily mean the most beautiful, or pretty or attractive.

The only one I would agree with so far on here is Angelina Jolie. She seems a bit of a 'have a go' type (if you know what I mean) and from what certain newspapers have reported about her it may well be true.

I agree with Joe that sexiness comes from confidence, self esteem and an ability to love your body no matter what it looks like.

Kylie will never be sexy no matter how many corsets and fishnets she wears nor how many times she wiggles her bum and pouts. There is no denying she is attractive, but in a more pretty, doll-like way and still rather 'girly'.

And finally, thin doesn't equal sexy. Big tits doesn't equal sexy.
