I currently have 3 bins: one for general waste, one for paper waste and one for garden waste.

I am keen to help the environment and recycle as much as possible. It strikes me that a bin to collect glass would be beneficial for many people.

I combine my weekly trip to the local supermarket with taking my glass to the bottle bank - in my car. But I wonder I practical that is for people who do not have access to a car?

Does anyone know if house collection bins for glass are being considered by Sheffield Council?

It's a good idea to have different colection bins, but if you have limited space to store them they can be a pain. I have very little space and the extra paper bin is a bit of an eye sore, especially the hideous bright blue which is less than desireable, surely a brown, green or grey would fit the environment better. I wouldn't want another bin or I wouldn't have room to walk through to my garden.

Yeah I agree....I am all for recycling but storing all these bins is becoming a bit of a joke......

I'm really luck because I have room to store my bins (we have 3 too). But it must be a real pain for people who haven't got the space to put them.

My paper bin is always full, could probably benefit from being emptied every 3 weeks than every 4.

Our 'garden waste' bin is a bit of a waste of space for us really as we have several compost bins so don't really have a use for the garden waste one. Can we 'opt out' of one of these bins is we don't have a use for them?
