Just got home to find my neighbour has taken down five panels of fencing.. hes in the process of replacing it.. so I presume it will be replaced soon
He has three dogs.. which he has just let out and they have come straight into my garden and messed in it.. I went and knocked and shouted thru the window but he didnt answer...
I dont have any dogs...
Rather than get police/council involved I wanted just to sort it out myself...
Also I live on my own so didnt want any bother..
Can someone please advise... am I within my rights to pick up the dog mess and throw it over their side?
Also thought I would put up some netting to prevent them getting over again..
Any advice would be appreciated

I would knock on his door again and wait for his reply, surely if he has got 3 dogs and taken down some of his fencing, he should have put something up to keep his dogs safe.

I'd collect it in a bag and hand it him back!

Don't see why not! It's his 'property'!
I know certain people who would pick it up and lob it at the door... but I wouldn't of course!

Now now lotti!
My dad's neighbour does that with cat poo, my dad caught him early one morning when he was drawing back his curtains, neighbour was hoeing his garden and flicking cat s**t over the hedge onto my dads grass. Now, my dad does have a cat but how does he know it's his?! he won't say owt as neighbour is quite old and they've been freinds for years..
I've told him to chuck it back over!

get all my friend round for a good laugh or a easy £250 on youve been framed haha
ahem!!
what are you people like?! :suspect:
how about a couple of real solutions?
yes, some netting would be good for the time being if you've got some
if it's an ongoing problem you can install any number of electronic deterrents, or just jet them with the hose every time they step over your side
if you wanted to be really unpleasant I'd ring the dog warden and complain there's 3 loose dogs in your back garden, or load them in the car and take them to the pound
your neighbour won't be best pleased with the release fee x3

Many thanks for all your responses.... some of which I would love to do purely for the fun element (funny to me anyway!!)
The end result was that I was out in the garden talking to a friend and contemplating chucking the poo back..
While I was doing that he (the neighbour) came out to put out some rubbish... and he apologised for the gap in the fence and said that he would be putting it back on Thursday (2 days time).. he didnt offer to cover the gap so I said I'd put up some temporary fencing (as I didnt want 2 days worth of dog poo - didnt say that though!!)
I had some roll up 6ft willow screen left over.. I cut it in half to reduce the height and make it cover twice the width... I pushed some plant pots up against it and its made a good temporary fence it will stop them coming in.. they are not big dogs so should be okay..
I wasnt brave enough to chuck the poo back but hopefully I shouldnt have any more problems....
thanks again...
I think thats a good solution without hassle hun
to be honest non confrontation is best
