Hi Ladies (and Gentlemen of course :))
This might sound really silly but I have developed a stiff achey left shoulder blade and a mega crink in my neck (it crunches) and I have put it down to when I am holding my baby I am holding my self really stiff.
I know the simple answer is to relax my shoulders a bit but I just can't :loopy:
Has anyone else had this problem or am I just being a daft moo.
:)

I have a condition called fibromyalgia which means I get a lot of pain in my shoulders and collar bone. Although I have not had this pain when lifting my daughter, I do know how we all tense up our shoulders without realising...... it can be very difficult to relax them. I would advise you to see your GP, they can refer you for physio who can give you some strengthening exercises
Hope it is better soon.
this sort of thing isnt that unusual. a cloth sling would help you to distribute the weight and balance your posture, and your hands would be free :)

I started to develop the same kind of thing and it was caused by carrying baby to and from the car in her car seat!

Muckynees I think you have got it! I bet it is the car seat - it weighs about 6 times more than the baby in it!!!!
Also my Silver Cross 3D pushchair is very heavy and I bet as I am right handed the left side of me is weaker and that is why it hurts!
Thanks xxxxx

I second that SamMT. If you are interested in doing this, but need a hand getting started, let me know I'm only too happy to help. I generally do demos at the baby group I go to - NCT bumps & babies in Nether Edge on Tuesday mornings, if you come along I can show you. If you can't make that, then just PM me, I can meet you and demo and help you if you have found something suitable.:D

You are most welcome Lauren84 :) Thats what I put mine down to anyway. I keep saying that I am gonna take Tayla out of the seat and leave it in the car but it's so much easier to take her into the house in her seat, especially when she's asleep (which is most of the time!). xx
