Not really sure if this is the best place for this but...

Any body know whats reasonable and what's not in terms of car servicing from a main dealer?

My Peugeot 206 is costing £161 for the service and they just phoned me to say that it will cost an extra £71 to replace the rear wiper and put new brake fluid in as it's currently dirty.

Does this seem reasonable? Thanks

I'd ask how much the parts are for the rear wiper. If they're cheapish (a new VW Touran Aero wiper cost me £14 for the arm and blade) then buy and fit it yourself. If it's just the blade (ie not the whole arm) that needs replacing then go to Halfords and buy one off the shelf.

Brake fluid can be done at most garages - try KwiKfit etc.

For servicing, under the newish EU Block Exemption rules, you can get your car serviced anywhere, and as long as they are VAT registered and use manufacturer's parts to replace whatever needs replacing then your warranty is still valid.

In terms of what you've been quoted for the service, which service is it? 10K, 20K etc. Cost will depend on what needs to be done at each service interval.

Service cost itself sounds within what I would expect.

Do the wiper arm yourself and get a 2nd quote for replacing the brake fluid as already suggested. Sounds a bit high to me and you never know, they might just be trying it on.

Try Netheredge Garage. And ask for Shaun. I use them and are friendly and helpful.
