I live in Stocksbridge and am about to start a new job working at Woodhouse. My working hours will be 9am - 5pm.

Can anybody doing the same journey at the same time advise me of the best route to take, and roughly how long the journey is going to take me?

I thank you in advance for your words of experience and wisdom.

Assuming you mean by public transport basically a choice of:

Any bus Stocksbridge to Hillsborough, then 13 or 14 bus through from Hillsborough to Woodhouse

Bus Stocksbridge to Sheffield City Centre, then either 52 bus to Woodhouse from Arundel Gate, or alternatively get train from Sheffield station to Woodhouse.

I suggest you feed your journey into an online journey planner - either www.sypte.co.uk or www.transportdirect.info

But bear in mind Woodhouse Station isn't anywhere near Woodhouse Village, it's a good 15 minute uphill walk.

True, it could be the Jet garage at the Mill, or the iron works at Fence.

But it would have to be a good job to justify travelling from Stocksbridge on public transport every day!

Or even in a car, one large traffic jam :gag: would be quicker to cycle
