My 18 year old son has just been diagnosed with coital cephalgia. I am worried sick as when you look on the internet it mentions sub arachnoid bleed (which is like a brain haemorrage) 'excuse spelling'. Its an embarrassing condition and I know a lot of people won't want to talk about it, but any input would be appreciated.

Oh the poor sod ........... has he been prescribed propanolol?(it can help) also losing weight and more excercise can help reduce episodes. The hemoraging that you've stumbled on only occurs in a very small percentage ....... and its quite rare so try not to fret too much. Has the doctor said if its a perminant condition or will it eventually go away?
No not been prescribed anything yet, we have to wait and see what happens next. He's not over weight although he thinks he is and he excerises far too much. He also gets these headaches when he plays football but not all the time. We've read about propanolol and the consultant at the hospital said he may have to go on it or on amitriptyline.
I've sent you a pm as you seem to know something about it and I would like to ask a question or two.
