does anyone know the settings for me to connect to pickup emails. I have an O2 data connection but have had no luck getting the phone setup correctly. I have spoken to 1and1 who have not been useful.

I think it's the account name which is the problem as one of my colleagues has his nokia on Tmobile setup fine but has an account name which is nothing like his email address it's something like m12345678 rather than a name@domain.co.uk

I'm using connection type pop3 should I use imap? Any ideas?

I wouldnt expect to select imap (though I see that they do have an incoming imap server address), but I'm not familiar with mobile phones.

All I need to do on a PC mail program is input the pop server address (pop.1and1.co.uk), my isp's outgoing mail server address and the account name + password. The password is the same as you use on their webmail login page.

I agree. The problem is likely your account name. I've just spent 10 minutes trying to find mine on their webmail and customer account login pages. I remember locating mine there 5 years ago, but they have changed. I couldnt find mine listed anywhere. Note that the account number listed at the top of the account info pages is not what you are looking for. Imho you are just going to have to call them again for assistance on this.

Edit: iirc I found mine located deep within their mail program (outlook express etc) setup tutorial pages, but I couldnt find a link to these or similar just now. I'm sure the info is hiding there somewhere :)
