OK all you people clamouring for a Folk Train outing - at last I’ve got around to posting details of this - so the Folk Train is next Tuesday 22nd July and let’s make a Walkers Group night out of it.

The band are called the New Orleans Strollers who are described as Traditional music with a difference.

Simple plan - gather on platform 2C at Sheffield Station in good time to catch the 19:14 train to Manchester which calls at Dore (19:22) and all stations along the Hope Valley, with music from the band throughout the journey. We reach Edale at 19:47, where we alight and make our way to The Rambler, the pub next to the station, where the music session continues.

We take the 21:28 train back to Sheffield - with more music - arriving at 22:03.

Well I’m going, hopefully see one or more of you there………….

Just wondering if anyone else is going on this tomorrow night? Don't want to go if nobody else is going.

Well not quite alone - I made that 6 who were Galloway + 4 and neoteric who enjoyed the musical accompanyment of the New Orleans Strollers –

Think James Bond “Live and let die” where the jazz band leads the funeral through the streets of New Orleans – OK a bit of artistic license here.

Great entertainment a few pints of ale at The Rambler and a good outing for the new ear furniture which met with Galloway’s immediate approval:thumbsup:
