I myself would rather work for a man , athough now my boss is a twenty something married woman and a great boss, but i think she's an exeption.

not bothered. My female managers have been slightly more intellegent and had more common sense than their male counterparts.

I'd rather work for someone who is fair, intellegent, tactful and knows their arse from elbow.

A lot of my bosses have been women. They were brilliant women, who helped me progress in my career. But really, it wasn't their gender, it was their personality, enthusiasm, commitment, drive, energy and the fact that they took time out to care for their staff, nurture and develop them. (posted with special thanks to Marjorie and Iris).

Depends on the personalities involved, but to generalise, I usually find blokes more consistent and have less political angles

Of the two most influential bosses I've ever had in my life, one was a man, the other a woman, I respect them both equally...

...a special thanks to them both, I call them...

...Mum & Dad.

I'll second that sentiment Foo_fighter, Mum and Dad are the best bosses ever!

Hmmm... well my boss is a man.

He's an old fashioned type of guy. Accidentally sexist, assumes women make the tea and the men in our department seem to be able to do no wrong.

Whilst the women would have to come into work painted blue with 'I work here too!' tattooed on their forehead for any recognition.

My boss is a guy, he's amazing at his job, lets me do as much or as little as i want and is not bothered if i show up for work or not, yet constantly praises my efforts...

Oh so great being self employed isn't it?

I've worked for both men and women. Some of them I couldn't stand and some remain among my closet friends. It's all down to the person. Everybody's different.

I would prefer to work for a young woman, for the simple reason that after a while she will be taking time off work to have a child and when she does you have a natural opening up the career ladder.

I know it sounds daft but its totally logical.

Scott!!! you are such a typical man!

I don't mind either way as long as they are good at what they do. Working for a man is easier sometimes as being a little flirty means you can get away with a lot of stuff !

The sex of the manager doesn't matter, the quality of their management skills does. So I don't mind as long as they're a good manager.

I don't like working for anyone - male or female. Be your own boss.
