My boss at the nursing home i work has just come back from London, he's recruited some nurses through an agency there to work in the US, offering some kind of scholarship I think,
Are they underpaid in the UK because they are here too, but they say they earn twice as much in the US?
Don't know how they would go on for rooms as it's quite expensive here to rent, will be interesting to meet them, so far it's just a dozen nurses.
An NHS registered nurse in the North of England earns between £17,650-£22,220 per year, that's about 33,886-42,621 US Dollars. This is at 'D' grade, which is what nurses get when newly quailified and often stay at, they can then promote to an 'E' grade which would be £20,000- £24500. Then obviously after is 'F' grade, sister. Nurses here also claim unsociable hours pay on top of this, time + 30% for Saturday or after 20.30 at night and time + 60% for Sundays and bank hols. Private sectors will vary on wages though. I believe wages in London are a bit higher to compensate for the higher living expenses.
What's the wages over their?
