i am worried I have schizophrenia or another type of psychosis but I'm 19 and don't know what to do or who to see about it.My family would think I'm stupid if I expressed my concern about it as they dont realy take much notice when I tell them I think I'm Ill and I tried to tell my girlfriend and she does not believe me.Help me please.:(

If you're worried go to your GP and they if it is required can get you an appointment with a specialist.
Basically worrying about it isn't going to help the situation so you need to talk to the people who can help.

It may be that you do not have that.You really get a correct diagnosis.Please go straight away to your GP and ask to be referred.You may have to wait a while anyway.

Please go to the doctors, schizophrenia can develop in late teens, but it could be any number of things ............... 99% of which can be sorted out quickly, speak to your doctor ASAP

(SEE your doctor--there are tablets for schizophrenia.

If you have to wait for your GP referral, try MIND, they will be able to give you some information too. Or even talk to the Samaritans if you feel you no-one to talk to about things.

You may be right. You are obviously worried so should seek health. You are over 18 so don't need your family's permission. You may be just a bit stressed. It's the age for brain chemistry upsets. I studied neuro psychology so I know a little about it plus I've had a few male friends where this happened at this age. It's probably only a temporary problem but do seek help if only to help you feel calmer.
