Hi,

I'm getting married next june, so far all we've got sorted are our venues and my dress. We're trying to decide on our colour scheme but we just can't settle on one. My dress is an ivory colour, and I'm having 3 adult bridesmaids. I quite like deep red as our second colour because I could then have red roses in my bouquet, but then I keep thinking maybe that would be too much and my bridesmaids might not like having to wear that colour all day. Does anyone have any other suggestions for good summer colour schemes for weddings?

Thanks!

We are having claret, and I am going for red calla lillies in my bouqet. All my bridesmaids love the colour as it is very romantic. I was also considering gold or a champagne type colour, but one of my younger bridesmaids (aged 11) is very pale and the colour would have made her look very washed out. I took my older bridesmaids with me when I went looking for their dresses, that way they could say what they thought of the dress and the colour as there are many shades of the same colour to choose from... a claret in one shop may be very different in another. I am sure your bridesmaids will love whatever you choose though. Good luck with all the planning. :)

my favorite colour this year has been the baby pink with fushia, very striking and different :) although it has been a nightmare trying to get the makeups to look right without making everyone look like they have been crying.

Another one that i have seen that i really liked has been a burnt orange colour (again a nightmare with eye colours).

I love the claret and of course the creamy ones - another summery/autumn one has been a bronzed gold.

If it was me doing it again i would take the older bridesmaids with me to look for thier dresses and get them to help decide.

good luck with whatever you choose x

I'm wearing a deep red dress, my adult bridesmaids are wearing ivory skirts with red bodices and my little bridesmaids are wearing ivory with red trimmings. I love those colours, I've said since I was young that I'd get married in red :D I'm having a bit of gold and silver in the room decorations to break things up a little, its a Christmas wedding so will look very festive.

They could wear black - black and red looks good together.
