I'm toying with the idea of starting a forum for friends & colleagues. Max users would be about 20 - 30 people so nothing major here, just a tiny version of this esteemed site. Someone has recommended 4uhosting.com for about £30 per year which seems to include everything needed. PHP is included in the package but does this mean a built in forum or do you have to develop it from scratch. I work in IT Network Support but no skills in programming etc. Does it sound feasible ?
All comments welcome.

I use a company called purplecloud (http://purplecloud.com) it costs £20 a year for the package you would need. As part of the package you get something called the application vault, it's basically a page in your control panel where you can click one button and it installs various things such as guestbooks etc.. but also includes phpbb, which is probably the most popular forum software on the internet.
Basically, one click and your forum is set up, and they're cheap!
Hope that helps,
Grant
If you have a look at the punbb (http://www.punbb.org) website it should make things clearer for you. It is a piece of cake to setup and completely FREE.

Have a look at us www.glasstop.net
we provide PHP hosting but our smallest package is a little more money. you also have access to phpMyAdmin to allow you to control the database and make backend changes.
