Some of these newcomers dont know what real banter is Jazz like your good self and Mad'Un and a few of the better wendy on here who have been around a while.
Blades and owls getting put in cyber jail because of one little insult aimed the newbies way and they spit the dummy, One even almost completely lost the plot :rant::rant:
I know the threads are deteriorating faster than Hillsborough but thats because the football season hasn't started and theres nothing to talk about.
Anyway good to be back posting but for how long, who knows :suspect:

forgetting loony tunes for a while. think briggy1967 was the worst. came on her a few months back and talked complete sh**e then was found out lives at shiregreen and does'nt even go to games. he then offers 1000 quid out in bets (wendy will get a higher average crowd than us last season lol ) loses does'nt pay and packs it in. plans a fresh attack on us red and white wizards and comes back as bulldog and talks even more crap. but as they say yer cant kid a kidder and is found out by yours truelly. denies it then realises what a fool he's been and makes up excuses to leave us "this board is childish blah blah blah and i'm not playing no more" and then theres the other fella gets deeper and deeper into the mire by trying to be witty but is witless and would send a speaking clock to sleep.
int it great to be a blade ;)
Well Done The Mighty Owls!

Hello mystic Corkers
Sheffield Wednesday went into the lions den tonight - and tamed the local wildlife.
They romped to a 3-0 win at Dutch team Stormvogels Telstar in the second stage of their mini-tour of the Netherlands.
Telstar, nicknamed the White Lions, provided a decent work out for the Owls.
Brian Laws' outfit didn't score until an hour was up - then slammed in three in eight minutes.
Marcus Tudgay (60), Deon Burton (66), Jermaine Johnson (68) were on target in the second successive victory on pre-season foreign soil.
Laws rung the changes from the team that beat Haarlem earlier in the week, Richard Wood, Peter Gilbert, Sean
McAllister, James O'Connor, Luke Boden and Marcus Tudgay started.
Bench places at this tight little ground went to Liam McMenamin, Tommy Spurr, Jermaine Johnson, Steve Watson and
Leon Clarke was the first to threaten the hosts, pinging a shot off the wordwork.
Laws decided some width was needed, bringing on Johnson for James O'Connor.
It increased the away side's options and they were even more assertive, without finding the finishing touch.
Tommy Spurr finally found the key to unlock the Dutch defence.
He whipped in a cross for Tudgay's head. Burton followed suit with similar aplomb
Then Johnson danced around three hapless markers before knocking in the third. Game over.
Grant (O'Donnell 66), Wood, Beevers (Spurr 46), Hinds (McMenamin 68), McAllister, O'Connor (Johnson 35), Boden, Esajas, Tudgay (Lekaj 66), Clarke (Burton 46)

Sorry, forgot to credit "The Star" for that report.
Nice to know the boys know where the net is. Let's hope for a better start to the campaign this year. After all, it could only get better couldn't it ? :help:
CorkerSWFC 17-07-2008, 22:03 Sorry i couldn't get the scorers quite right for you peeps lol
I had a field day in the euros, i was Turkish by the time it had ended.
In one of the games i had the Cechs half time Turkey full time, plus Turkey to win 3-2.
I got 40/1 for the half time full time and got 33/1 on the 3-2.
Another good recent one was England against Usa, i had John Terry to score first and England to win 2-0 at 80/1, it was the game after John Terry had missed after the champions league final, so in a way that was like trying to predict the headlines on the news, that seemed the most obvious, great players bounce back quick.

had a bad season last year on fixed odds must have been down a couple of hundred overall. you'll have to start giving fixed odds tips out when the season starts and no biased shown to us blades ;)
CorkerSWFC 17-07-2008, 23:42 I might just do that for a few jars of the winners lol.
A few photo's I took at the match last night. Sorry there not the best quality in the world but considering how off my face I was after spending all day In Amsterdam I'm impressed I was actually able to point the camera and make it work at all :) .

Car-park demonstrations follow another wretched performance
By Deadbat - 10/02/2008 00:32
Sheffield United's disastrous campaign sunk to its lowest ebb as the home side somehow failed to beat Scunthorpe despite having a one-man advantage for over 80 minutes.
After a disappointing outcome at Colchester, the Blades should have been able to kick start their campaign with a comprehensive performance and victory against the Iron. However, it was the nature of the performance as much as the unacceptable result that left most of the home crowd either leaving the ground before full time or by becoming involved in vociferous car-park demonstrations against Bryan Robson.
United began without those that had played for their respective countries in midweek with David Carney, Keith Gillespie, Stephen Quinn and Luton Shelton all left out. Shelton and Quinn made the bench. The Blades started with loanees David Cotterill and Lee Martin on the flanks, and Rob Hulse and James Beattie up front.
The visitors, backed by a healthy following, had ex-Blade Jonathan Forte in the starting line-up and Kevan Hurst on the bench. They were without leading scorer Martin Patterson through suspension.
The game began in unseasonably warm sunshine on a distinctly uneven surface and neither side could gain the ascendancy. United struggled to get any kind of momentum as Scunthorpe closed down early and quickly, and early chances were at a premium with tame efforts from Gary Speed and Jim Goodwin failing to test either keeper.
However, a game that had seen little in the way of poor challenges suddenly had a red card inside less than 10 minutes. A 50-50 challenge saw Grant McCann challenge Cotterill and leave the United man prone in a heap. It seemed innocuous enough but referee Rob Styles brandished an instant red card and his motioning to McCann seemed to indicate he had been dismissed for a stamp on the United man.
United now had a golden opportunity to seize control. Forte was employed as a lone striker with Paul Hayes dropping back into midfield. United tried to force proceedings and Cotterill was one of the few players who looked like a threat as he had a long-range effort on goal and then played a clever through-ball inside the full back before Martin was ruled offside.
Ugo Ehiogu had been struggling for some time with an injury and finally conceded defeat on the half hour being replaced by Matt Kilgallon, whose entrance drew rapturous applause from the United fans, clearly unhappy at his absence from the team after a strong season thus far.
United's best effort came not long after as Chris Morgan's flicked header went just past the far post. Scunthorpe were competing well and picking up more of the possession than expected, and with Forte willing to chase any loose balls, they began to gradually test the United backline. Indeed, Goodwin's shot was a whisker wide after a nice interchange of passes.
United were not keeping the ball, and created very little with the front two not in the game. The routine punt forward was earning little rewards and merely frustrated even further the crowd, who were now beginning to voice their disapproval at yet another dismal home display.
Scunthorpe enjoyed the better of the final stages of the first half with two scrambles in the United box but Hayes was crowded out when the initial opening seemed to be inviting. The half-time whistle came and went with the now-customary boos after the now-customary poor performance.
United did not get any better in the opening to the second half with Scunthorpe offering more threat, Goodwin's excellent long-range effort just wide with Paddy Kenny surely beaten as he scampered across his line. The subdued Beattie departed on the hour to be replaced by Billy Sharp, whose entrance drew applause from both the home and away support.
But the game was now an awful spectacle. Michael Tonge's wayward volley wide drew groans from the fans, yet United still ought to have gone ahead not long after as they created their best and only decent chance so far. From Speed's free kick, Sharp leapt well but, unchallenged, he should have scored but his firm header hit the outside of the post and bounced away when it seemed easier to score.
The Blades managed to create another rare opening as Rob Hulse, who had been largely anonymous, turned well and hit a firm rising drive but Joe Murphy was equal to it, making his first real save of note. Sharp fired wildly over when presented with the ball at his feet and then Scunthorpe enjoyed another good spell with Hayes firing at Kenny.
Shelton joined the United attack but his mis-kicked cross/shot, which flew wildly into the Kop, summed up the performance. Referee Styles allowed an extra three minutes to be played but he could have played an extra three hours and United still not would have scored.
The final moments saw the game peter out with more action on the terraces than on the pitch, protests erupting throughout the ground that later continued in the Cherry Street Car Park.
This still leaves a great feeling of warmth in my heart
