There's-a nothing so lonesome, morbid or drear
Than to stand in the bar of a pub with no beer

House Party
My house, Saturday Evening.

Hello all,

I am apparently having a house (yes, I do have one thankyou) party this weekend. Its a kind of house warming even though I have been living there about a month and I haven't noticed the house being too cold thus far.

I'm sure you've all been to a house party before so I won't bother providing a detailed list of activities, but just bring yourselves and a little alkeehol too would be nice, though I'm sure we'll be getting plenty of beer in ourselves.

PM me if you want to come along, I'll let you know my address once I have carried out sufficient Identity checks on your username.

To be honest, i'm not sure how big or great a thing its going to be, so you're really taking your chances if you come. I would suggest thinking up some excuses now in case you want to leave after an hour.

Yours always (my darling),

Andrew (or 'tramp', if you must!)

I just heard on the olympics (yeah well nothing else was on at the time), and i'm not sure i totally believe this...

To make a goose-feather shuttle cock 16 feathers are needed but only two 2 feathers of any wing can be used (thats a hell of a lot of geese!!!), but.. and this is where i start to wonder, the left wing makes faster ones than the right wing??!?!?! .... errr... doesn't this make, for geese, it rather more complicated to fly straight?!?!

Jaap
14-08-2008, 09:57 AM
yes that's what I wondered as well. Doesn't that make a goose fly in circles? :loopy:
But the number of shuttles used in the olympics is enormous if you consider they use about 20 shuttles a game....that leaves 160 bald goose a game! :o

I'm sure the RSPB understand the need for quality sporting entertainment.

Maybe with advances in genetic engineering they can create a goose with 160 wings ... mind you to havest the feathers, might be a bit difficult to catch :D

Hello all,

I'd just like to point out that there's a beer festival in the field at the General Cemetery off Ecclesall Road this week, Thu-Sat

There's other stuff than just beer and I think it would make a good social

I'm having another House party this Friday. Its a leaving-do for someone moving to Gibraltar but don't worry about that, its my house so you can come. May well be a loud and late one. I am fearing this may be the last thing I do in this house before I get chucked out.

Anyway, PM if you want the address details - there's also a facebook group which I can give you the link to.

Andrew
