My girlfriend and I are thinking of moving to this road but after viewing a couple of houses there this week we weren't too sure about the area. It was evening time when we got there and there seemed to be a fair few gangs of youths hanging around on street corners. We've also heard that the crime rate is quite high in this area. After moving here from inner-city Birmingham we were kind of hoping to put all the gangs and crime behind us.

Does anybody have any experience of living here/on this particular road and can fill us in a bit better?

Other areas we are looking at are Walkley or Hillsborough. How do these areas compare. I know that the terraces may not be as large inside, the ones we've seen in Sharrow are suprisingly large. How do the areas compare in terms of crime and safety?

Any information much appreciated, we are still quite new to Sheffield :)
