When I opened it hotmail had blocked it as it said the sender was unidentified...any clues?

Bin it. It'll be some attempt to confirm that your address exists before adding to a spamming mailing list.

And don't ever open any email in future which is similar. If it's not someone trying to find out if your address works, there's a good chance it's filled with lots of nasties to try and take over your computer.

Only open emails from people you trust or are expecting.

can someone help me?

My hotmail account was hacked today and an email sent to everyone! luckily its bounced back from some people so i am aware of it and used a different pc to change all my passwords. basically its my boyfriends i been using and he a stupid git! his anti virus has not been working properly and he must have opened something which has infect the pc.

So my problem is can i report this to MSN? or what should i do apart from change passwords?

I have searched and searched to find out what to do and cant find anything!

I am so angry with him as i am really careful at what i look at and open and now panicking about all my accounts online:(

Yes you can report it to M$ but I doubt they can do anything about it. Make sure the PC you use is clean, and AV is updated, then change passwords.

thanks, i used my laptop which is clean and changed all passwords.

he really is a numpty, his AV has not been working and also there was an update for it which flashed on the screen but he ignored it so its totally out of date!
luckily the email sent was just some crap sales thing but it could have been worse.

first time its happened to me and i feel violated!
