I love prawn and mayonnaise on sandwiches however I can't seem to make it taste like when you buy a made sandwich from the shop. Other than the obvious prawns and mayo what else do you think they put in it?

I always think those shop sandwiches taste like they're made with garlic mayo ...

Maybe black pepper and lemon, this is what my mate adds.

I'd go with that. I depends of if you're using fresh or frozen prawns too. When I've done it, I tend to use frozen ones (I know, I know .....), but I leave them to defrost in a sieve, so the excess water leaves. Then place in a bowl, and add a pinch of salt, so that the residual water comes away from the prawns, but the bits of taste are still there. Mix well.

When I say a pinch, I mean a pinch!

Then as foxforcefive says, black pepper to taste, and a splash of lemon, mix well again, and then however much mayo as you want.

Crisp iceberg lettuce (anything stronger could take away the taste of the main filling too much), and eat quickly!

Good quality mayo, add a spot of double cream. a quick squeeze of lemon, and just a a flash of sea salt and black pepper. :)
