Aw hun...

Sorry it did make me giggle because if I'd said as a kid that I wanted a certain kitten and no other my parents would've said 'you can like it or lump it but he's going back!'

Surely if your kitten is missing him and they've always been together you'd be better off just explaining that she can have another kitten but he is yours and was never intended for her to keep?

You could try getting your remaining kitten a new friend but I'd have thought it'd be easier to bring back the other kitten and get your cousin a new one than try to introduce a new kitten to yours.

Sorry I'm no help...

Ah your other kitten will be missing her playmate. I would take the kitten back and let the kid cry sorry.

Before anyone calls me a kid hater, I am a mother and when it comes to animals kids dont get a say in it.;)

thats what my parents would have said too, shes a bit of a spoilt brat but i love her all the same. lucky my 3yr old little boy is been very grown up about it and says he as one and would not be fair if he had two and she had non.

LOL Gemima... I didn't want to put it quite so bluntly but yeah...

bobgirlsnake - I'm afraid I'd have had to be happy with ANY kitten and if I'd complained they'd have told me to sod it I wasn't getting one at all...

I'm glad your little boy is being so grown up about it but in all honesty, I think it's a shame he should have to be! If you miss him that much, I would just say I'm having him back and it's upto her mum to get a kitten of her own if she wants to

Sounds like you have a lovely little boy though :)

I would bobgirlsnake. Personally I think learning as young kids that you can't have everything you want, and being made to cry is all part of growing up.

I'd have been devastated too as a little girl but you grow up realising that you can't have everything which is especially important when it comes to live animals.

I'm sure it will upset you to see her upset, but she needs it in order to grow into a well balanced young lady who knows she can't have everything (says the lass with no intention of having kids and no maternal instinct whatsoever!).

Dont feel guilty she cant get everything she wants and the cat is yours, good for you! Go and get the cat first thing.... or even better during the night when she is asleep.

I am so evil.:D

This would be enough for me! I think they get a lot out of having a playmate (even though my litter sisters have a love-hate relationship - Smudge loves Smitch, Smitch hates Smudge!)

Good luck!

I can't believe you gave in to a child! :shocked:She's three! And it's your cat! I can't imagine splitting up my two. Tomorrow she'll want the other one, then this, then that... are you going to give in everytime!? Honestly...

Noooo take him back... he's your cat! My two i can't imagine them not being together. Even as old ladies, they still love to cuddle up together. It makes me smile so much.

Don't give into her and make her into a spoilt brat. Offer to get her a kitten of her own.

Def take him back - your other kitten will be missing its companion and if she really wants one there are plenty sitting in rescue centres all around Sheffield.
