help i m not very technical when it come to computors, i have just set up my laptop to get it wireless and that all works fine, but i also have a desktop pc which i also want it to go wireless, how do i do it? also because its quiet old do i have to buy one of those wireless dongles?
hope some one can help
thanks in advance:)
Doesn;t matter whether it's old or new, it'll need something connecting to it to make it wireless. Easiest thing if you don;t fancy opening up the PC (about the only thing actually) is a USB wireless adapter. I'd avoid Belkin and D-Link. I'd go for a Linksys or Netgear, but preferably Linksys.
so if i buy one of those and plug it in to the back of the pc will it work straight away?

I'd expect that you'd have to configure it the same as you did the laptop.
IE, specifiy which network you want to use (if there are other wireless routers in range), enter encryption key etc. You are using some form of security I hope?

glad you got it working Gem. I use a sitecom usb dongle for my wireless to a laptop. Maplins do them quite cheap. Dead easy to configure, just the same as you did for your laptop. :)
thanks foxy:) yeah got it working but it wasnt easy, ended up having to phone netgear for help as i am not that good at setting things up lol
