I have seen some new homes being built on wincobank Hyacinth road part.I live in Shiregreen not to far.What is the area around here like?I am popping in next week to get a brochure on a new home.

A word of warning. Haslam homes build cheap affordable housing. You get what you pay for and the finishes are not fantastic. The choice of internal fixtures is also pretty poor.

You can get a lot better than Haslam Homes for that sort of price. Go to some of the better builders and put in a cheeky offer. They are desperate for sales at the minute and you may be suprised at what they can offer.

Heard about a builder who knocked 40-50k off a house recently. Should be some more interesting offers fairly soon - because a lot of sources are predicting falling prices well into 2009 and beyond. Don't offer to buy at anywhere near the asking price!
