Come on, shout up! :D Guest 08-01-2003, 11:08 PM My mate has a flat on the 2nd floor - very nice, in fact I spend most of my time there! The only criticism is that the lifts are always really dirty, last time i went there was dodgy brown stain on the mirror (eww!) You got a penthouse? ramet5 09-01-2003, 07:58 PM Originally posted by "Dave" My mate has a flat on the 2nd floor - very nice, in fact I spend most of my time there! I have one of the smaller ones on the 3rd floor. :) Talking of the mirrors in the lift I would love to know who was squeezing their spots on it a couple of months ago. Urgh! Guest 09-01-2003, 10:10 PM Eww... that sounds horrible - the cost of luxury hey?! So cant you guys afford cleaners?! ramet5 10-01-2003, 02:34 PM Originally posted by "Dave" Eww... that sounds horrible - the cost of luxury hey?! So cant you guys afford cleaners?! You think thats grim, the waste pipe from the toilet in the flat above me burst and filled my shower room with, erm, 'waste water'. Thankfully Persimmon paid for a new carpet. And the smell has gone now. :) I think they are going to give the place a really good clean when the builders get of site. David 17-03-2003, 09:59 AM Does anyone know what is going to be underneath the flats? They have been boarded up for ages with no work being done! Someone must know, a nice bar or restaurnat would be good! grep 31-03-2003, 01:57 PM I was told, a couple of months ago, by one of the people in the show flat, that the entire space was going to be a Tesco. spotswood444 17-09-2004, 08:25 PM I work for the company that built Royal Plaza and they are having trouble selling the open space between Nandos and Tesco due to there being no delivery access to the unit. the nearist it has been to being sold was as an Indian restaurant. The biggest proplem at Royal plaza in my opinion is the little Hitlers that masquerade as a residents comittee. These are people who think that they know most things about the development ,when in fact they are like most so called proffesional people they have little or no common sense when it comes to life and living it. Usually they end up having a power struggle and all fall out with each other.....PATHETIC CREATURES some of them which is a shame as ultimately they will spoil the place for the descent majority. What the place needs is a live in caretaker available 24/7 and not one who goes home at 4:30 ish. CPM the maintenance firm are a joke. skyfitsboy 23-09-2004, 05:06 PM Originally posted by spotswood444 I work for the company that built Royal Plaza and they are having trouble selling the open space between Nandos and Tesco due to there being no delivery access to the unit. I wonder if this is why the retail space below West Point at the bottom of West St has been boarded up since it was built? Always wondered why it has been available TO-LET for such a long time. Tony 23-09-2004, 05:53 PM It's simply because there are few people who want this space. Mouseman 23-09-2004, 06:03 PM Did they ever get round to putting up signs for the exit in Royal Plaza? I went to see a client there a while ago and spent ages trying to get out. Seemed a bit dodgy if there was ever a fire or something Plain Talker 23-09-2004, 09:49 PM For a brand spanking new building, that was supposed to be compliant with (I think) part M of the building regs, the access to the building is completely lacking! it's dire! Totally rubbish! On the Eldon Street side (behind Tesco) the entrance is at the top of a flight of steps.... and on the Westfield terrace side (nando's) the entry phone system is too high for a wheelchair user to use. it's ridiculous. you have to get* into* the building to get someone to come out of the building and help you get "Into" the building. It defies logic! Maybe, it's that no-one disabled is rich enough to afford the prices of the buildings in the complex, or that no-one disabled has friends... or at least none rich enough to live there, and therefore need no access...? So much for the bright, new, inclusive city, eh? Talk about our brave new world! Use a bit of common sence and you'll be fine. Plain Talker 24-09-2004, 12:54 AM I would not say it was a matter of common sense to be able to find your way out of, or around a building with which you are unfamiliar. Not everyone has a perfect sense of direction. and can instantly "wayfind" in a building where they have never been before. What I *would* say is, that I agree with Mouseman, in saying that it *is* a matter of law and health and safety, not to mention the possibly of it turning into a "life or death" situation, if the fire exit routes or exits, are not clearly signposted. The law says, quite clearly, that egress, in case of an emergency *Must* be clearly signed and kept clear from any obstruction. PT mr craig 24-09-2004, 01:34 AM Sorry, i was more on about finding your way out in nice clean air, i really cant see how its that hard. As for the fire issues well if the building was in breach of them then surely it would never have been passed by the building regulaters???? Tony 24-09-2004, 09:24 AM Well it's the Fire Officer that actually plans where to put signs (if Building Control let them). They tend to have a vested interest in getting it right. Maybe Mouseman needs new specs :D AngelEyes 24-09-2004, 10:23 AM If you've found your way in then don't you just go in the opposite direction to get back out??? mr craig 24-09-2004, 10:56 AM Originally posted by AngelEyes If you've found your way in then don't you just go in the opposite direction to get back out??? Thats right. :) Like i said its not that hard with a bit of common sense. sak233 27-06-2006, 12:14 AM Hi!
