Just wondered if anyone has had any experience with the RSPCA when adopting an animal, we just adopted a cat from them and they're coming to do a home visit next week, he's so cute, he's called spock!

I got my kitten from there a few weeks ago. They nip out for an initial homecheck (check you're basically who you say, take a look at your garden and location as regards to main roads) and just have a little chat about your home circumstance etc (nothing drilling, just stuff about wether you're at home/work... kids around etc depending on the animal you're adopting) I picked my boy up from his foster mum the day after my home check and she couldn't have been more helpful. They are also always there for any queries or concerns Good luck (I think I saw Spock on the site when I was on the lookout). I hope it all works out :) SallyLaLaLa 12-07-2008, 08:06 Yes, have adopted from them. They are very good, you get 6 weeks free insurance and free spaying/neutering. My RSPCA cat is currently sitting next to me having a long miaow conversation about how she wants some more fish. cheekychimp 12-07-2008, 14:29 Thanks, we're waiting for them to contact us to arrange to come round but apparantly the woman only lives round the corner from us anyway, so hopefully all will go well!! angel 68 20-01-2009, 17:26 hi just a quick question, does anyone know how much it costs to adopt a dog from the sheffield council kennels thanks. sazzlebrin 20-01-2009, 17:47 its £73 pound and they do the first jabs and i think they offer microchip for free as well, was there the other day and lots of lovely dogs in. teeny 20-01-2009, 19:31 good luck it will be fine, home checks are important to see whats what and good pet care is essensial so you will pass with flying colours. angel 68 21-01-2009, 13:23 thanks sazzlebrin for information. |
