The road safety improvements are well underway on owler lane near to the speed camera.
They have built crossing points that stick out into the road at each end of parking bays, and now looks like they are building some sort of island in the middle of the road.
How this will improve safety is rather confusing, as people crossing the road will be stood behind parked cars, If youv`e seen these improvements, How do you think they are going to improve safety ?

A similar scheme has been in place on the road outside my house for around 20 years and in that time accident rates have increased rather than improved. !!!

Amazing the number of "improvements" that start around the end of the budget year!

Almost like they're scared someone will find out what they do for a living!

We already know, boys! F. A. !!

Or am I being unfair to the Kremlin (sorry Council!!)

I last saw the road works at an early stage a week or two ago, so can't comment on them fully, but I expect that the road safety scheme will encourage parents to walk their kids to the local nursery and school rather than have them driven a few hundred metres along a busy and congested road.

I'll take another look at the weekend and report back with more info.

I suspect the biggest danger to local kids is the terrible parking outside the nursery. Selfish parents regularly park on the double yellow lines outside the building, despite being told not to (repeatedly).
