at 11:00 on Sunday 26th June.
Its the end of the first bit of endcliffe park. Id say hunters bar but thats where the shef uni lot meet if I remember rightly.
The Route:
Up through endcliffe parks then across to ringinglow up over the moors briefly then down towards the A625 (eccleshall road), then down blacka hill towards dore. Then back down to hunters bar from there. Nothing too extreme so should be suitable for people of most abilities.
Hope to see you there!

Free mountain bike tours with trained leader.
I'm looking to lead groups of people to gain some experience which I need to obtain the full OTC Technical Mountain Bike Leader Award. (i've already done all the training). SO if you want to take advantage of a free lead ride in the peaks then get in touch! Anyone of any age and ability can come you just need a mountain bike. I'll gear the ride to your requirements (which Iwould need to know in advance so I can do any pre ride preperations!) See latest posts for next ride.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Tim
jackthedog 19-04-2005, 10:23 You didn't used to ride a Trailstar did you? And an old Mongoose full susser?
Not at all! I like hardtails and climbing hills. (bit weird like that) You must be thinking of the other tim_rutter.
Tim
jackthedog 19-04-2005, 10:46 Ah, okay. I know a Tim from Hillsborough thats about your age, who rides bikes.
What on earth is uphill?
:)
Uphill, is where you turn your huge downhill bike round and fall off the back coz your forks are too long :D
I was in "TREAD" and i still hurt from all those peak "uphills"
you can still see me round wharncliffe bustin my proverbials on an average ride though,
JJ..
Hi :),
This is calling any forumers who'd like to go on a lead mountain bike ride this sunday. I am a trained mountain bike leader looking to gain experience in this field so that I can get my full qualification. I have already run one tour though turnout was small! The ride went well I think. If anyone is up for it we can meet at hunters bar roundabout at 11:00 on sunday. Anyone of any ability can come, I can gear the ride to suit you. All you need is a functioning mountain bike, a helmet (no helmet no ride - the only rule!), some lunch and some waterproofs.
Tim
(tims off road cycling - TORC!)
Further to the above, I now have one spare bike that anyone is welcome to borrow (for a small donation).
BUMP! Come on guys the sun is shining (the weather is sweet yeah, makes you wanna rotate those cycling feet...)
themonkey 13-05-2005, 11:19 Yeah I may be interested, where are you planning on going?
ey up tim. gaz from crookes here. back from spain. where are you planning on going on sunday
blademan 13-05-2005, 19:05 im crap with names of places in sheffield, hunters bars at endcliffe park right?
Yep. Was just about to cancel this, but if you're up for it the ride is still on. Let me know if you can def make it.
Tim
Ok, I'm gonna cancel the ride tomorrow due to lack of interest! I'll be doin one in a coupla weeks if anyone fancies it then...
Tim
Just a quick note to say that I was out in the peaks today on the bike and with todays weather it really was awesome.
It may take a bit of effort to get out there but when you do it is well worth it.
cptwhite 15-05-2005, 09:27 Damn I'm a bit late this time, but if you setup another Tim I'd definately be interested. I've not done a full days riding before - just a couple of hours around clumber park and the like, couple of times a week on an exercise bike and often go to rother valley near where I live in the summer. Do you think I'd be able to hack what you have in mind?
Guess I just do it for fun, I'm not a serious rider although I've considered upping the level of riding I do.
Yeah no problems. Like I say i can gear the ride to whatever level is required. Thats all part of the training! Itll be a june before I'm next free unfortunately, I'll let you know tho.
Tim

Sorry for not replying thought no one was interested. Tomorrow will be a bit tricky as I have made other plans. Many apologies for this! I think next time I'll just set a time and date and then whoever turns up turns up, if no one does Ill go and play somewhere!
As for riding with no helmets, I wouldn't recommend it but as long as you understand its completely at your own risk.
well we dont usually ride with any helmets anyway, so when are you next going? and what time do we have to meet you? and also where exactly do we meet you?

I will organise a ride soon. May be in evening during the week seeing as its summer. Probably meet at the end of endcliffe vale parks (hunters bar roundabout).
Next ride this sunday, see first post for details...
BUMP..........................
cptwhite 23-06-2005, 17:05 Just got back from Spain - I might not be able to make this weekend as I might have plans (in the balance at the mo) ...also heading to London all next week on business so I've got a pretty tight schedule. Tim PM me you're mobile and I'll just have to let you know this weekend whether or not I can make it. I'll let you know either way.
beachcombers 29-06-2005, 22:14 Hi tim,
I'm looking to start doing some extra riding at the moment. Are you planning to have any more days out any time soon?
