Wonder if anyone can help, please. I've got a Canon Powershot A430 with which I make small videos for youtube(surprisingly good quality for a cheap camera, on the small screen.). Anyhow, I'd sometimes prefer to not have sound, so how do I turn the mic off? I've referred to manual but cant find any instructions. I'd appreciate help, thanks.

Excellent, illuminati, so simple but doubtless effective.. I'm assuming the mic is the 3 tiny holes just above the lens?

I would imagine so yes, could be a speaker or sounder though but you will soon find out!

No, it don't seem to work. I covered both the aforesaid holes and the 12 on top of the camera separately ,and together. Thanks for the help though.

Just tried it on a digital recorder and it cuts the noise down but not by much, would have thought it would! Maybe try cheese?
