Is anyone else over run with clover in their lawn ? It wasnt there the last time I looked and its suddenly appeared. The front lawn is covered with white clover, and the back lawn with purple clover. Its very strange, where has it come from ? Has anyone else got it ?
We have got loads of white clover in the front and back lawns. Cant get a dry enough day to mow it though!

Aah so it was about clover. I was wondering whether you'd pressed the C by accident.

My front lawn is white with it. Im getting some weed and feed next week and spend a few weeks slaughtering it before I add more grass seed.
Its because of the wet summer last year, plus when mowing it, if you dont have a clippings catcher thing on your mower, then strands of cut off clover can be spread around the lawn and they can take root much in the same way that buttercups can.
Its a pity Donkiddick isnt around, I bet he`d have a quicker solution.

I see !! Our mower does NOT have a clippings catcher, so problem solved. The thing is I cant remember it being there last year. I havent seen clover for years, now its suddenly appeared. But why white on the front lawn & purple on the back.

Are you pulling my leg ? Do people still look for four leaf clovers, as we did as children ?

No, purple clover is nice to eat! We used to eat it along with blackberries and goosegogs and all the other stuff thats out there!
I used to spend hours in the sun looking for four leaved clover when I was a kid! My eyes arent up to it these days but I encourage my kids do do it.
In the garden where I lived as a kid on Holgate avenue, there was a huge patch of clover that had only four leaves! The three leaved ones were rare there for some reason
Our mower has a grass box so dont know why we have been attacked. Didnt have a problem last year. Have been trying to mow once a week but the weather has been against us with that. Finally managed to mow it on saturday so got rid of the clover flowers at last.
