Hi all,
I've just been asked to look at this:
A teacher wants to create a PowerPoint presentation, add some audio and get it onto a podcast. At present he's using a very convoluted method involving Audacity etc.

Is there a better way to do this? The 3 parameters are:
It must be done on PCs
It must end up on an iPod and...
it must be free!

Thanks for that CGK. I've looked into them all and they either want you to perform the task externally, via a website (we want to keep it 'in-house') or they are limited 30-day trials/watermarks etc. SO!
Is there in existence a piece of conversion software that will convert all of the following (both ways)
.avi, .mov, .mpg, .m4v, .mp4, .wmv, .swf and .flv.

Within reason, price is no object but all the above are 'must-haves'.

How about ffmpeg (or a derived project). I think it will fill your must haves, if you can work it.

To save PowerPoint as video, I recommend to use PowerPoint 2010 (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint/) or Moyea PPT to Video Converter (http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/ppt-to-video/) for in these two ways all the PowerPoint originals like animations, slide transitions, music will be preserved.
