My exisiting house, has london/heather bricks, which i am told are poor quality from my builder, do any of you guys/builders know if this is correct? i want my extension bricks to be as close as match as possible.
My builder got MKM to call me to tell me that the london bricks are not a very good quality brick, but i'm not sure as they are more expensive, so i thought they would be better quality.....

it may just be that they're harder to come by or are usually a product supplied for listed building renovations
how about considering rendering the extension? or perhaps a suitable amount of the existing house too?
You could even go for cedar clad instead - think outside the box a bit ;)

mine isnt a listed building, one supplier can get them but they are more expensive than other bricks, so not sure if my builder is trying to fleece me.....

Rubbish, they are a good brick. I feel he may have got a good deal on an alternative.
Some bricks are harder to lay due the facing texture being rough so maybe that's it.

tripe , he may be able to get some seconds or something , also you can have your brickwork treated to match the rest when it is finished.
