on the bbc website it says

The study said Firefox users tended to use the most up-to-date versions, while Internet Explorer users were the slowest to update their browsers.
More than 83% of Firefox users were using the latest, most secure browser version, compared to 65% of Safari users, 56% of Opera users and 47% of Internet Explorer users.

I wonder how many just use IE out of convenience because it's already installed and don't know of any superior browsers?

Almost all of them?

The reason why 83% of FF users are upto date is because the update is very simple and normally does not cause your system to go AWOL after the update.

I went from IE, to FF, then after a few hiccups with that, I went to Opera, and that was over a year ago, never looked back. :)
