SHEFFUTD 07-07-2008, 16:16 Hi could anyone help me on ideas for a small buisness?
Just to earn a bit of extra pocket money.
Easy to set up, can do in own home/road?
Not costly to set up?
Apollogies for the bad spelling in the title, and any other words i may have spelt wrong.
Thanks.

I guess it depends on how old you are?
SHEFFUTD 07-07-2008, 17:35 I am 14.....
espadrille 07-07-2008, 18:15 As you are only 14, I suggest that you look up on a website what you are allowed to do in the way of work as there are obviously restrictions that are placed on young people with regard to number of hours and what they can do etc.
The usual one that springs to mind is washing cars, but i guess that you would have to do a really good job before someone would pay you.
At 14 your background in business would be limited and there is no better way to experience business than setting up your own.
I would however reap the benefit of countless mistakes being made by working with small businesses, where every person makes a difference.
This could be like work experience, but obviously out of school hours or with their permission. Try family and friends to see if you can go in with them.
As you get older it is work trying a McJob for a few months, just to show you that its worth sticking in the time at school, so you don't end up there.
sonicmover 17-07-2008, 12:10 hi there starting your own business up is hard. just starting my own up doing removals. there is lots to think about but am slowly getting there. when i was your age i was doind a paper round. know its hard when the weathers bad but wrap up. see if someone want any leaflets posting know i will do when my business is ready for lift off. pinklight removals
MBardwell 17-07-2008, 13:05 whereabouts are you based, i could do with some leaflets distributing, probably an afternoons work.
delivering flyers, dog walking, odd jobs - grass cutting/car washing. or if there's something you want to do approach a business - they may need an extra pair of hands for a few hours a week that'd make all the difference. good luck!
A&R Gardens 18-07-2008, 19:26 14! I would say newspaper rounds, leaflets, odd jobs for neighbours that stuff, thats how i started, now im 17 and all ready got a succesfull business running,
best to research things at your age so you know what your doing when you older as most people wouldn't trust somebody so young with money etc.
i suggest finding out what you want to do then get as much infomation and stick to that business
MsMillion 19-07-2008, 04:28 You can try doing pay per click sites in the web if your up to it. I started out that way and it got me a few bucks.
A&R Gardens 19-07-2008, 14:49 How do these pay per click sites work? :S
Right, i'm gonna make some assumptions, ok!
Your fairly young, your online (must have access to some form of computer online to post here), your icon is GTA (obviously like games (even if for over 18s)), Hunters bar is kinda hip an' trendy also with a student base.
Anything sprung to mind yet?
No, well, you could start teaching yourself web programming, set up a forum (phpBB0 for particular online games, put on adverts, then when got enough punters, hire a venue and get people to bring own pcs and have a lan party, do a tuck shop. Say 20 peeps come to la'party each paying £5 - £10 (say it covers the hire cost and advertising etc, then they won't think your ripping them off), so that's £100 - £200, minus the cost of venue and website. More peeps, more cash. Even think about sponsorship (graphics cards, consoles, games companies, etc), t-shirts, etc...
But getting into web design and business development can only set up in good stead for the future and for a platform to build upon new ideas.
If you need any help with learning to program, info on hosting etc then i'll be happy to correspond (I already answer a lot at phpfreaks). But since your at school I bet you've got some teachers who can assist you.
